Position Summary
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are actively seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and versatile Graphic Designer to join our Marketing & Communications team.
This individual will be responsible for designing and producing a wide range of visual content to support marketing campaigns, digital media, game day promotions, ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and community initiatives.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the spirit of sports branding, and can juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design digital and print assets, including but not limited to: Game day graphics, Promotional materials, Social media content, Game programs, Arena signage, Merchandise and apparel concepts, Sponsorship activation graphics
- Collaborate with departments across the organization (ticketing, partnerships, community relations, hockey operations) to fulfill creative needs.
- Assist with photo editing, image selection, and basic video/motion graphic work as needed.
- Support game day operations through content creation and in-venue visuals.
- Maintain consistency with team branding, tone, and visual identity.
- Stay current on design trends and sports marketing creative.
- Assist with the hire, training and management of graphic design interns.
- Work with local printers and traffic projects through completion to ensure all deadlines are met
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design (sports experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects is a plus).
- Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of work, particularly social media and sports marketing graphics.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Ability to take creative direction and feedback constructively.
- Passion for hockey and an understanding of fan culture is a must.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required during the hockey season.
