The Greeter, School of the Arts, welcomes all students, parents, teaching artists and visitors to on-site school of the arts activities, classes, and events at Dr. Phillips Center’s AdventHealth School of the Arts. The Greeter will efficiently and accurately check-in students as they arrive for classes, check-out students at the end of classes, assist with administrative tasks such as registration, paperwork management, roster and student information tracking. Participates in the smooth operation of school activities by assisting with wayfinding and providing general information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a warm and sincere welcome to all students, parents, teaching artists and guests that arrive at the School of the Arts.
- Utilizing class rosters (paper and/or computer database), safely check students in and out of the building when they are attending classes. Provide teachers with information regarding student enrollment and student attendance.
- Help oversee daily functions and communication of school of the arts activities. Assist with opening and closing procedures for the school of the arts.
- Assist with administrative duties (i.e. photocopying, filing, updating student information, collecting forms, etc.). Organize paperwork and information as directed. Process payments for registrations, as necessary.
- Communicate via email on behalf of the education department important class and program related information using Dr. Phillips Center brand and standards.
- Remain knowledgeable of School of the Arts activities and other Education programs This includes: start and end times of programs; class and camp offerings; teaching information; building knowledge (restrooms, security procedures, parking information, etc.)
- Maintain a neat and organized work area, to include maintaining studio cleanliness
- Follow and support all operational policies and procedures. Assimilate into the arts center culture through understanding, supporting and demonstrating the core values.
- Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with students, parents, teaching artists, other departments, colleagues, and partners. Able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Maintain Dr. Phillips Center’s standards of customer service at all times.
- Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Have a genuine interest in the arts; understand and support the art center’s mission.
- Kind, outgoing, people-oriented person with strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated individual.
- Must have previous customer service experience.
- Experience working with children, parents and young adults is preferred.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
- Administrative experience (i.e. filing, photocopying, maintaining records). Computer experience to include knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- This position requires the ability to work a variable schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs.
