About the Team

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified GSRP Program Coordinator at Inkster Preparatory Academy in Inkster, MI dedicated to providing a superior education for all students.

The program coordinator oversees the operations of early childhood programs, ensuring quality instruction, provides support and coordination for planning, implementation, and assessment of curriculum/instructional initiatives related to early learning, including birth to age 5. This position supports schools to ensure the delivery of high-quality instructional programming.

About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities include to-

  • Provides onsite and oversight to Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) classrooms.
  • Formulates annual goals and objectives for new and existing programs and services.
  • Oversight includes curriculum implementation and GSRP licensing.
  • Conduct classroom observations.
  • Monitor student progress.
  • Creates the school calendar, handbook and staffing schedules.
  • Plans and coordinates events.
  • Oversee the budgeting process and make certain that all the program needs are met for the GSRP program.
  • Implements and oversees the GSRP evaluations system, which includes taking the lead in providing feedback, recommendations for professional development and follow-ups.
  • Works with the teaching team to create meaningful programs of quality.
  • Conducts and facilitates staff meetings.
  • Develops in-service training for staff.
  • Writes and prepares newsletters and marketing materials.
  • Becomes a part of the school leadership team and meets at least twice a month with the principal to ensure consistent communication between programs.
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring new lead and associate teachers.
  • Provides oversight and ensures implementation of the Highscope Curriculum in GSRP.
  • Keeps abreast of developments within Early Childhood Education and informs staff in a timely manner.
  • Monitors grant and licensing regulation to ensure compliance in all GSRP classrooms.
  • Completion of childcare licensing renewals and the submission of corrective action plans.
  • Attends all program meetings as the PSA.
  • Meet regularly with the Early Childhood Specialist to ensure the proper instructional support is given by the director.
  • Maintains and updates the MI Registry system on a regular basis.
  • Maintains and updates the Great Start to Quality system and sustains at least 4 stars.
  • Substitutes and floats as needed to ensure the 1:8 ratio is always maintained.
  • Enroll students through the enrollment period and beyond.
  • Point of contact for teachers and families in relation to communicating all community needs to the ECS to get proper support for families.
  • Supports and oversees teacher observation notes are in the Highscope COR system while verifying that the notes are accurate and in compliance with the COR windows.
  • Other instructions and duties as assigned by the school leader.
  • Maintains accurate records.

About You:

  • Minimum Requirement: Master's degree in early childhood education, Educational Leadership, or related field required.
  • Must have formal training in the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Ability to interpret policy and procedures.
  • Five or More years of relevant leadership experience· Must have or acquire knowledge of the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for preschool.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Organizational and administrative ability to prioritize workload and complete the tasks in a timely matter with the ability to communicate with and support preschool teaching staff effectively and positively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adapt establishing and maintain good rapport and working relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized; ability to meet stringent deadlines, prioritize work, operate in a fast-paced work environment and coordinate projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups and maintain an effective working environment.
  • Understanding of GSRP guidelines and familiarity with the implementation manual and guidelines.
