Balance Dance + Gymnastics is a vibrant, expanding dance and gymnastics studio located in the northern Atlanta suburb of Chamblee. We provide a wide range of classes in recreational gymnastics and tumbling, as well as dance. We seek a passionate and experienced Gym Stars Team Coach to join our growing team and help shape the next generation of confident, skilled young athletes.
Job Description
We’re looking for a team coach with strong gymnastics and leadership experience who brings positive energy to every class. The Gym Stars Team Coach will lead both recreational gymnastics classes and our Gym Stars program—designed for girls ages 6+ seeking a more advanced, team-oriented gymnastics experience. The teams train twice a week and compete at local meets from January through May.
Essential Duties:
- Coach Gym Stars Team and recreational gymnastics classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 – 7:30 PM, beginning August 12, 2025.
- Collaborate with the Director of Gymnastics to develop Gym Stars routines and lesson plans.
- Attend 3 – 4 metro-Atlanta Gym Stars meets on select weekends between January and May.
- Support student retention and recruitment efforts through positive communication and program excellence.
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child feels valued.
- Maintain timely and constructive communication with staff, students, and parents.
- Ensure safe setup and takedown of equipment and assist with gym opening/closing as needed.
Necessary Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience coaching gymnastics teams, preferably with USAG Levels 2–4, Gym Stars, or Xcel athletes.
- Proven ability to lead teams and build positive athlete relationships.
- Commitment to creating a positive atmosphere that combines hard work with fun and supports our mission to build confidence in children through recreational gymnastics.
- Membership in AAU USA (paid for by Balance) within 30 days of hire.
