The Academy of the Holy Cross (Kensington, MD) is looking for a Head Junior Varsity (JV) Field Hockey Coach for the 2025-26 season and school year.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a coach to lead within a program in a spirited, catholic educational setting as well as a competitive, athletic centric environment. The start of the season is Mid-August until late October. The ideal candidate will have effective positive communication skills, passion for Field Hockey as well as strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will also possess an organic passion to instruct, develop, and teach individual/team Field Hockey strategy while building life-long, lasting mentor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a desire to help build a program, a vision to convey to student-athletes as well as a willingness to build relationships within our community and the grassroots field hockey community. The ideal candidate will have earned a college degree and have demonstrated experience coaching/playing at the high school, college, or professional level. The Academy of the Holy Cross provides a competitive stipend within this position.

Principal duties include:
- Serve as Head Coach for the Junior Varsity team with support from the Varsity Coaching staff.
- Knowledge of Field Hockey fundamentals including practice plan strategies and design of training/practice/game routines
- Efficiently communicate to student-athletes, parents
- Organization!
- Positive and Professional - ability to lead by example as a positive role model for young women of our community. Ability to interact effectively and positively as an ambassador of the school.

- Ability to be an ambassador of the Academy’s athletic offering to inspire and drive enrollment.
- Ability to attain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire. (offered by us, free!)
- Must be available Monday through Friday during after school hours for practices and games as scheduled during season, Mid August to Mid October.
