About the role
Location: strong preference for SF or NYC but open to other major US cities
As our Head of Deployed Engineering, you’ll build and lead a team of solution engineers that act as the technical backbone of our go-to-market efforts. This team works alongside our sales team to help our prospects and customers build reliable, scalable agents for their business using our suite of products — LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and LangGraph Platform. This team focuses on pre-sales efforts but stays on accounts to not only close new business but to also make our customers wildly successful.
As the leader, you’ll be tasked with:
recruiting a world-class team of deeply technical and commercial deployed engineers
creating foundational, scalable playbooks and collateral to support us through hyper growth
representing the company in high stakes customer meetings and events.
We like leaders who roll up sleeves and can be examples of what excellent looks like. You have to love the craft of selling and enjoy developing and motivating a group of talented people who can each be a future CEO in his or her own right.
What You’ll Do
Build and scale the deployed engineering function — hiring, onboarding, and mentoring a team of all stars.
Drive high stakes deals forward by working directly with prospects on technical evaluations, POCs, and solution design.
Create repeatable processes and high-quality collateral (demos, code snippets, templates) to enable the team and accelerate sales cycles.
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, engineering, and support to advocate for the customer.
Tell compelling technical stories — mapping developer pain to our product’s value, with clear communication and excellent presentation skills.
Stay hands-on — we like leaders who lead by doing, and you should earn the respect of the team by jumping into the deep end with them.
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, engineering, or similar customer-facing technical roles for a dev tools, AI, or infra startup.
Director-level experience leading technical GTM teams through hyper growth phase of a startup.
Deep technical expertise — you’re not a stranger to Python, understand software engineering workflows, and can explain system architecture.
Experience working with or selling to developers and engineering buyers
Strong track record of running technical POCs to success, working through implementation blockers, and driving customer adoption.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
A bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and a high bar for excellence.

Familiarity with genAI, agents, observability, or open source
Experience as an early member of a startup GTM team
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary and equity stake for role and stage of company. Commensurate with experience.
Annual salary range: $270k - $340k
