The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA), conducts risk assessments, leads incident investigations, and promotes a culture of continuous safety improvement in the manufacturing facility.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred or 5+ years of experience in health safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, OSHA 30) are highly desirable.
- EMT instructor

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems/software.

Job duties:
- Develop and enforce health and safety policies in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations, ongoing compliance, and emergency preparedness.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related training, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation, including but not limited to OSHA 300, 301, 300a.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure safe work practices are integrated into operations.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance data; prepare reports and present findings to management.
- Lead safety committee meetings and support employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Stay current on industry best practices, emerging safety technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Serve on Emergency Response Team and coordinate training efforts.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily based in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and potential hazards; use of PPE required.
- Occasional travel to other company sites or for training as needed.
