The HBHC intern will support the Healthy Baby Healthy Child program by contributing to its quality improvement (QI) efforts in partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). As part of the QI project team, the intern will assist with note taking, data collection, participate in team meetings, and help identify strategies to strengthen client engagement and program outcomes. Day-to-day, the intern will also support staff with administrative tasks, resource organization, and community engagement initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in maternal and child health, public health programming, and systems-based improvement work.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain practical experience in applying QI methodologies within a public health setting.
- Develop skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform program improvement.
- Understand the structure and operations of a city home visiting program focused on maternal and child health.
- Strengthen communication and collaboration skills by working with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders.
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in public health, public policy, data science, computer science, or related field.
