Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Heavy Equipment Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training operators on various heavy equipment, ensuring they are proficient in safe and efficient operation. This role is essential in maintaining high safety standards and operational efficiency on construction sites. The trainer will work closely with new hires and existing staff to enhance their skills in operating equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and water trucks.
Duties
- Conduct hands-on training sessions for operators on heavy equipment including bulldozers, dump trucks, loaders, and tankers.
- Develop training materials and programs that cover equipment operation, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate trainees' performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure competency in operating machinery.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during training sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress, and certifications.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to identify training needs based on operational requirements.
- Provide ongoing support and refresher courses for existing operators as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction site environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and operation.
- Previous experience in a training or instructional role is preferred.
- Familiarity with various types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, water trucks, loaders, and bulldozers.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills to manage training schedules and documentation effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
