Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Horticultural Manager to oversee our Projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and landscapes, along with the expertise to identify pests and problems with plants and landscape. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to ensure the health and beauty of our gardens and outdoor spaces. The job requires being both in the field and in the office to generate reports, order plants, plant research and nursery contact via email.
Responsibilities
- An understanding of proper horticulture techniques, and scheduling of specific landscape tasks is required.
- Solid knowledge of Florida Plants is needed, with an interest in learning.
- An understanding of irrigation systems and proper watering needs for specific plants in needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of plants and landscapes to identify health issues or maintenance needs.
- Train and supervise staff in horticultural practices, and safety protocols.
- Generate plant lists from landscape planting plans. Research and order plants. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate landscaping efforts for events or special projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in irrigation system design and maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
- A degree in horticulture, landscape management, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
