Cafe Buenos Aires is a beloved Argentinian tapas bar that has proudly served the Huntington Village community for over 18 years. Our warm ambiance, flavorful cuisine, and loyal local clientele make us a standout in the area’s vibrant dining scene. We are currently seeking a friendly and organized Host or Hostess to be the welcoming face of our restaurant.
Position Summary:
As a Host/Hostess, you are the first and last impression for our guests. We’re looking for someone who is personable, composed, and proactive in ensuring each guest has a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they walk in.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly as they enter
- Manage reservations and waitlists using OpenTable
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus
- Communicate estimated wait times and keep guests updated during busy periods
- Coordinate with waitstaff to ensure timely table turnover and smooth seating flow
- Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries or to-go orders
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house and lobby area
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in a customer-facing role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong multitasking ability
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Must be 18 years or older
