Household Manager and Part-Time Nanny
Location: Temecula, CA
Family Overview:
A warm and welcoming family with parents and an elementary-aged daughter, seeking support with engaging childcare and household management tasks. The family also has two beloved dogs that require attention and care.
Work Schedule:
- Childcare: 3 afternoons per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) focused on after-school care.
- Household Support: Flexible 6 hours per week dedicated to managing household tasks.
- Weekend Availability: One weekend per month (up to 48 continuous hours) for care.
- Occasional Travel: Assistance with family trips, both domestic and international (passport required).
- Additional Hours: Summer months and no school days will require increased weekly hours to accommodate the child's schedule.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a close and trusting relationship with the family, contributing to the overall household and helping create a positive environment for the child.
Responsibilities:
Childcare Duties:
- Engage with the child, ensuring her well-being and safety during after-school hours.
- Organize her space, including toys, clothes, and school items, and ensure her room remains tidy.
- Facilitate school pick-ups and manage after-school routines, including activities and meals.
- Offer support, particularly in reading and math, to encourage learning progress.
- Provide support for extracurricular activities such as music lessons and encourage practice at home.
Household Responsibilities:
- Handle household organization and tasks, including laundry, grocery shopping, and maintaining the kitchen.
- Assist with household errands and help prepare for family trips (packing and organizing).
- Collaborate with the housekeeper (who handles deep cleaning) to keep the home running smoothly.
Pet Care:
- Feed, walk, and provide companionship for the family’s two dogs.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience:
- Proven experience in childcare and light household management is essential.
- Familiarity with child development philosophies like Waldorf is advantageous.
- Comfortable around animals and able to assist with basic pet care tasks.
- Ability to swim well is preferred.
- Experience with tutoring children, especially in reading and math, is beneficial.
