Housekeeper

Spring Haven is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and comfort for our elderly residents. Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms and common areas, laundry duties, and ensuring a safe, sanitary environment. Compassion, patience, and an understanding of seniors’ needs are essential.

• Be familiar and follow the MSDS sheets and know the location of the books.
• Keep all assigned areas of responsibility clean, safe, orderly, comfortable and attractive.
• Inventory the equipment and supplies to ensure the serviceability of the equipment and sufficiency of supplies.
• Keep the facility free of offensive odors, dirt, dust, trash accumulation and safety hazards.
• Utilize only authorized chemicals.
• Take appropriate care when using cleaning chemicals.
• Use appropriate disinfectants to protect residents and guests.
• Clean personal laundry. Collect and sort soiled clothing, linens and terry.
• Treat stains as required.
• Operate washers, dryers and iron using established procedures and instructions for machines.
• Wash and fold facility linens and terry and return to proper storage, keeping up with the work flow.
• Leave the Laundry room closets/areas, clean and neat; all work equipment used during shift will be cleaned and stored in their proper place.
• Ensure that all linen and terry are in good condition when placing in a resident's room.
• Attend periodic in-services on chemical safety.
• Reports any unusual resident conditions, illnesses, or complaints to supervisor.
• Read and understand the Emergency and Disaster Plan.
• Know the location and operation of all fire and emergency equipment located in the general work area Know evacuation routes and exits in work area.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service training sessions
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional attitude and consistently work cooperatively with residents, families, supervisor, coworkers and ancillary service providers.
