HR Assistant & Marketing Specialist

This blended role brings together important responsibilities in both Human Resources and Marketing, creating a meaningful connection between the organization’s internal support and outward communication. The person in this position helps care for employees while also sharing the organization’s voice and values with the wider community. Collaboration and a thoughtful, well-rounded approach are key to providing consistent, supportive service across both areas.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls
- Reply to any emails, texts, and voicemails daily, within 24 hours.
- Collaborate in Managing Unemployment Claims
- Manage the 401K program
- Enroll employees when they qualify for Health/Dental/Vision Insurance
- Planning and Facilitating Company Events
- Planning and Facilitating Educational Events for Providers and Customers/Families
- Finding resources for Empowered Services website and Newsletter
- Creating the monthly Newsletter
Qualifications:

- Proficient with Google and Windows platforms (including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Excel, and Word)
- Must have integrity and an eagerness to grow
- Knowledge of the I/DD community
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred but not required
- Attention to detail
- Be cleared through a federal background check
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma/GED
Expectations:
HR Assistant Responsibilities
The HR Assistant ensures that employees have access to essential benefits and support systems. Their duties include:
- Health Insurance Administration:
Handling employee enrollments, changes, and communications related to medical, dental, and vision insurance. This includes liaising with providers, resolving coverage issues, and maintaining up-to-date records.
- 401(k) Management:
Assisting employees with retirement plan enrollment, updates, and inquiries. The HR Assistant also coordinates with plan administrators to ensure compliance and timely contributions.
- Unemployment Claims:
Managing and responding to state unemployment claims, including gathering necessary documentation and submitting timely responses. This also includes tracking claim status and helping reduce company liability through accurate recordkeeping.
Marketing Specialist Responsibilities
As the Marketing Specialist, this person leads the organization's communication and promotional efforts, primarily focused on:
- Newsletter Production:
Creating and monthly newsletters to keep customers/providers informed. This includes content planning, writing, editing, and layout design to reflect the organization’s voice and mission.
- Facebook Page Management:
Overseeing the company's Facebook presence—scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring engagement metrics to optimize visibility and reach.
- Event Planning:
Coordinating community events from conception through execution. This includes venue selection, vendor coordination, marketing, and managing event logistics to ensure successful experiences that align with the organization's values.

Compensation and Schedule:
- Hourly Rate: $27.00
- Monday-Friday
