Our Farm Technician supports daily hydroponic farm operations, assisting with tactical tasks to ensure efficient plant care and production. Responsibilities include transplanting, harvesting, seeding, and system maintenance as directed to promote optimal plant health. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and food quality standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily farming activities, including seeding, transplanting, harvesting, and plant maintenance.
- Support and assist with all systems, tools, and infrastructure to ensure they are properly maintained and functioning as directed.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines to maintain high-quality standards.
- Assist with packaging, and preparation of products as directed.
- Assist with the tracking key performance metrics and provide reporting to management as directed.
- Assist with the inventory levels of seeds, nutrients, growing media, packaging materials, and other supplies to ensure adequate stock and minimize waste as directed.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of hydroponic systems and plant health monitoring is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication within a teambased structure.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective agriculture training, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development is implemented.
- Experience in harvesting, packaging, and product preparation for delivery or customer pickup.
- Experience with tracking, maintaining, and reporting on stock levels of seeds, packaging materials, and other farm supplies.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities and desire to resolve issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, deadlines and quality standards.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials as needed (weight requirements may vary).
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards.
