Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with ICE Supervisors and Contract Coordinators to establish work packages, matching labor expertise to specific jobs ensuring safe work plans.
  • Assists with part orders to ensure material is on site as needed.
  • Establishes schedule to outline critical path and balance of plant work.
  • Develops capital project plans and creates external vendor contracts.
  • Solicits requests for proposals from external vendors.
  • Assists in establishing Indus Contracts/Releases for all outage vendors.
  • Assists in preparing and analyzing reports.
  • Confirms lessons learned and best in fleet safety practices have been integrated into work planning activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Two (2) year Associates degree in electronics or a qualifying Engineering or Science; OR high school diploma with two (2) or more years of related military experience; OR a high school diploma with five (5) or more years of related industrial technical electrical or controls experience.

Licenses and Certifications: None required.

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of work-related experience in outage/project planning, outage/project field work activities and/or plant operations
  • Relevant on-the-job experience or education above and beyond that described above may be substituted for part of the experience and/or education requirement

Abilities & Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and write technical reports
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to promote the safe, efficient, reliable operation of the plant
  • Knowledge in Work Management Systems Process and associated software
  • Knowledge in use of applicable Scheduling Software and Process Information (PI) trending software
  • Knowledge in the use of various contracting methods

Knowledge:

  • Must have sufficient experience in the use of power industrial instrumentation to have a working knowledge of process control.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge and expert skills needed to calibrate and adjust plant instruments and controls and detect and make repairs to control systems.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of equipment and clearance procedures and the rules, safety practices and procedures.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA, regulatory and environmental guidelines, safety policies and procedures

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; sit; work with hands and fingers; push, pull, reach, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; communicate with others to exchange information; and hear. The employee must be able to operate machinery, motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and power tools. The employee must have close visual acuity to analyze data, perform inspections, and view computer monitors; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

This position requires working in hazardous conditions such as extreme heat and cold both in inside and outside environments; environments containing fumes, odors, dust, gases, and high amounts of noise and vibration. Additionally, this position requires the ability to work in close quarters, narrow passageways, at heights, on grating, platforms, scaffolding, poles, and catwalks. Work outside normal business hours may be required.
