The IIoT Technical Development Specialist is responsible for designing and developing IIoT solutions from concept to implementation, integrating both VEGA and third-party hardware/software to meet the defined application requirements of each project.
What you’ll do:
- Engage with field sales and customers to gather solution requirements, system architectures, etc.
- Develop, configure, and integrate IIoT solutions including sensors, edge devices, gateways, and cloud platforms.
- Develop and deliver proof-of-concepts and demonstrations to showcase solution capabilities.
- Provide technical support during pre-sales and post-sales phases, including site visits, installations, and troubleshooting.
- Assist sales and business development teams to create technical proposals.
- Develop documentation such as system specifications and collaborate with other team members to develop training materials.
- Document technical processes, write basic user guides, and help maintain project records, training materials
- Train customers and internal teams on solution deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
- Stay up to date with IIoT technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Work with outside vendors.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%
What you need:
- Bachelors or Associate’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering/Technology, Automation Engineering or other related technical field
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a desire for learning new technologies.
- Detail-oriented, with an appreciation for documenting processes and following established internal business systems.
- Highly organized, able to remain focused and productive in dynamic or distracting environments.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and industrial communication protocols is a plus (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA, LoRa).
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms.
- Some experience with programming languages like Python, C#, or JavaScript is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, PLCs, or industrial automation systems gained through coursework or hands on projects.
