POSITION OVERVIEW
The Import/Export Analyst I is responsible for supporting the company’s import and export operations, ensuring the timely and compliant movement of goods across international borders. A key responsibility of this role will be managing the Customs Duty Drawback Program, including preparing and submitting claims for recovered duties, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and working closely with internal teams and external partners to track and resolve any issues.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage the company’s Customs Duty Drawback Program, including working closely with a third- party duty drawback service provider in preparing duty refund claims in accordance with U.S. Customs regulations.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, suppliers, freight forwarders, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of duty drawback claims.
- Create, generate, and refine import, export, BOM, standard cost, and HTS classification reports for duty drawback claims.
- Maintain accurate records of duty drawback transactions and provide reports to management on the status of claims.
- Analyze import/export data to identify eligible transactions for duty drawback.
- Track import/export data to ensure eligibility for duty drawback, and work to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to duty drawback claims.
- Monitor regulatory or company changes and advise the organization on necessary adjustments to the duty drawback program.
- Support internal audits and Customs requests for information and ensure all records related to duty drawbacks follow regulatory and company standards.
- Communicate with internal departments, U.S. Customs, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party service providers as needed to resolve any duty drawback related issues.
- Develop and implement reports and processes using Business Intelligence and other tools for the duty drawback program and import/export compliance.
- Assist in the coordination of import and export processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations.

WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Data Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in import/export operations, supply chain, data science, industrial engineering, or accounting.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
WHAT WILL HELP
- Experience with the Customs Duty Drawback process or prior experience working with customs brokers.
- Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, including Customs Duty Drawback processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of Bills of Materials.
- Certification or coursework in international trade or customs compliance (e.g., Customs Broker License, CSCB).
- Experience working in a global supply chain or logistics environment.
