- Safely and efficiently wash railcars before they are loaded with different grades of Polyethylene plastics at the Beaumont, TX operation
- Perform daily washing and associated railcar movement in the deheeling and washing area
- Operate a locomotive or Trackmobile when needed (training and certification provided by Savage)
- Assist in all tasks within the washing/deheeling building, including:
- Operating washing and deheeling equipment
- Recording and documenting inspections and completed washing activities in a Customer computer system
- Performing pre-shift maintenance walk downs of the washing system
- Support a large-scale yard environment serving a petrochemical plant with time-sensitive and environmentally compliant operations
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Willingness to learn and follow extensive training provided by Savage
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Successful completion of classroom training and passing of written and skills tests
- Willingness and availability to work rotating shifts on a 24-hour schedule, including holidays and weekends
- Experience in the rail industry preferred, but not required (training will be provided)
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to walk and stand on uneven surfaces for extended periods
- Physically able to:
- Climb on and off railcars and locomotives safely
- Climb stairs multiple times per day
- Operate railcar hand brakes and rail switches
