Purpose of Position: The Inside Sales Representative will promote the sale of CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder products. Sales will be made through a developmental block of agencies and brokers that may span multiple counties. This will be accomplished through extensive outbound call activity and product campaigning to brokers, GA distribution partners and small business owners in the territory.
Essential Functions:
- Secure new business opportunities for both CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder products by successfully campaigning to assigned territory of developmental agencies/brokers.
- Partner with and support general agency distribution partners to increase sales for CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder products.
- Maintain high levels of call, e-mail and video conference activities in support of efforts to increase new membership for CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder products.
- Support broker partners with presenting CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder products to end user (business owner).
- Partner with pod Regional Sales Manager(s) to strategically grow the assigned territory.
- Work with the Manager of Inside Sales to develop key sales techniques to be used for both broker and client presentations.
- Operate within Pegasus and Opportunity systems daily to produce quotes and enrollment worksheets as needed.
- Position is primarily remote; however, on-site attendance is a requirement as needed. Punctuality is an essential function of this role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.
- 2-3 years’ industry experience in group health insurance sales preferred.
- Computer literate with preferred knowledge/experience with SalesForce.
- Working knowledge of carrier portfolio and related products and services.
- Knowledge and understanding of small group marketplace.
- Use of effective communication skills while conducting in-person sales presentations.
- Must have strong people skills, strong phone skills, and ability to prioritize.
- Self-disciplined, ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Results driven, ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Requires a professional demeanor.
- Adhere to all PHI (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College education is preferred.
- Active CA Life & Health license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of date of hire.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
