Job Summary

Adherex Specialty Materials (part of the Adherex Group) is seeking an experienced Inside Sales/Business Development professional to join the team at our Toledo, Ohio location. This role is key in supporting our continued growth in various markets and regions, and it is responsible for driving sales growth with new and existing customers while collaborating with various departments to optimize sales results.

Adherex Specialty Materials is a specialty converter of protective & returnable packaging components, converted die-cut parts and high-performance pressure sensitive tapes. We offer various converting capabilities and value-added services providing solutions to the most demanding applications for a variety of industries such as but not limited to Automotive & Transportation, Marine, Industrial, and more. Job Duties

  • Manage and grow relationships with new and existing accounts
  • Introduce new capabilities and products to new and existing accounts
  • Develop new accounts by prospecting for market and account specific targets by understanding customer's needs and requirements
  • Follow up and develop incoming leads from trade shows, websites, inbound calls, etc.
  • Collaborate with a variety of company sites and departments to ensure the proper technical and customer service support is provided to customers and prospects
  • Provide technical and project management support to customers and prospects
  • Work on specific projects or programs to support key company initiatives
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, often for several hours at a desk or workstation
  • Frequent use of hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
  • Ability to handle documents, use office tools like staplers or hole punchers, and perform data entry tasks
  • Occasional reaching above or below shoulder height to access files, documents, or office supplies
  • Occasional walking within the facility to attend meetings, deliver documents, retrieve documents, or collaborate with colleagues
  • Light lifting, usually up to 10-20 pounds, which may include carrying files, small office equipment, or supplies
  • Ability to view computer screens for extended periods

Education and Experience

  • Preferred BA/BS degree
  • Five (5) years of successful inside sales/business development experience in the Automotive & Transportation markets including but not limited to selling protective & returnable packaging, pressure sensitive tapes, and converted die-cut parts or similar product/market categories
  • Strong presentation skills, written & verbal communication, business planning, and experience working with a CRM
  • Experience with technical sales, project management, problem solving, and solution selling
  • Strong phone presence and experience in making outbound calls daily
  • Well organized; ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively; ability to be adaptable and accountable

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in prospecting and making outbound phone calls with strong market, application, and technical knowledge
  • Proven successful Sales or Business Development experience in the Auto, Transportation, Industrial market sectors with pressure sensitive tapes, die-cut converted parts and/or protective/returnable packaging
  • Self-motivated with a result-driven approach and a commitment to maintaining high customer satisfaction levels
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word and a CRM
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
