General Function
The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.
Description of Primary Duties
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Instructor are assigned by the School Director and may include serving as an academic advisor. The Instructor will have the responsibility to teach undergraduate and graduate courses full-time within the special education program. In addition, the Instructor may provide support to our Pathways for Paras program. This program supports the transition of individuals from working in K-12 settings in non-certified roles into certified teaching positions.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required.
Additional Qualifications
A master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. Candidates must hold a degree in Special Education. A minimum of three years of special education teaching or related experience is required. Candidate must hold certification in Special Education. Knowledge of requirements for attaining certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is required.
