POSITION SUMMARY:
The physician in this role will provide direct primary care to patients at AtlantiCare’s FQHC in addition to precepting Internal Medicine residents in the Teaching Clinic. They will be responsible for supervising residents’ clinical activities, ensuring high-quality patient care, ordering diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and providing educational guidance to residents to foster their clinical development.
In the preceptor role, they will ensure that the resident takes accurate histories, performs physical examinations, and makes clinical decisions. They will supervise the residents' assessment and management of patients. This includes reviewing the learner's diagnosis and treatment plan, providing feedback, and ensuring appropriate decision-making.
This position is critical in delivering optimal care to an underserved population while simultaneously providing essential training and mentorship to the next generation of physicians. This position will provide on call and after-hours support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of medicine
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey. Board Certification in Internal Medicine and membership on the staff of Atlantic City Medical Center. CDS and DEA registration unencumbered.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
The physician demonstrates the clinical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the Medical Director.
