JOB SUMMARY:
The finance/accounts payable internship aims to provide interns with practical experience in applying theoretical knowledge from the classroom to real-world financial scenarios. The primary purpose of the internship is to equip interns with skills, insights, and abilities that are essential for a thriving career in the field of finance.
During the internship, the intern will be exposed to various aspects of finance and accounts payable processes within a professional setting. This may involve tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing vendor relationships, and assisting in financial reporting. By participating in these activities, the intern will develop a hands-on understanding of how financial operations function within an organization.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Finance team with various account reconciliations / financial reporting.
- Assist Accounts Payable team with invoice review and audits.
- Update Accounts Payable log and track down invoices from vendors.
- Work with Finance and Universal Creative Project Team in completing month end close, financial update, and ad-hoc requests.
- Communicate with vendors on outstanding items.
- Perform Data analysis in data reporting as needed.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Business, Finance, Accounting/Mathematics, or Economics
- Preferred coursework: Finance, Accounting and Math
- Preferred skills in: Excel
- Understand Construction/Corporate Finance job responsibilities
- Understand Accounts Payable process
- Understand month end close and financial update requirements to leadership
- Understand Universal Creative project life cycle along with vendor contracting and invoicing
Please note the following:
- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
