Job Title: Intervention Teacher (Social & Emotional Learning)06/13/2025
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent and Supervisor of Literacy Instruction
Job Purpose: Provide teachers and students with research-based plans and instruction through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports. Specific focus includes the social and emotional learning of students.
Qualifications-Required:
NJDOE Certification
Proven demonstrated excellence in planning, class management, instructional management, climate and community relations.
Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively train staff.
Ability and willingness to model effective teaching strategies within the classroom by
planning and executing well designed structures and lessons.
Ability to use student performance data to design and implement high-quality instruction.
Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports and the ability to communicate this knowledge to teachers, staff, administrators and the community
Able to pass the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Review
Ability to pass the Pre-Employment Physical
Able to pass the required Criminal History Review
Qualifications-Desired:
Degree and/or advanced coursework in Behavior Supports
4-5 years school experience
Experience working with students with behavioral needs
Experience in creating behavior and/or academic intervention plans
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work to achieve district educational goals and objectives by promoting and modeling differentiated learning in the classroom using board-adopted curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
Provide leadership in equity and the achievement of core standards, district goals and objectives.
Assist in the implementation of the district’s and school’s professional development programs for the all building staff.
Provide support in coaching and modeling equitable, inclusive and effective teaching strategies within the classroom by planning and executing well-designed lessons with teachers to meet the needs of their students.
Participate in grade level, faculty and other meetings in order to maintain horizontal and
vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program.
Keep abreast of and interpret to the staff the current research in the area of curriculum
development, teaching and learning.
Meet on a regular basis with teachers for the purpose of looking at individual student data to implement curriculum through effective instruction.
Assume appropriate responsibility for student assessment and analysis in collaboration with the building I&RS Team.
Attends required training sessions.
Demonstrate leadership in communicating with the school community.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendents and/or the Superintendent of Schools.

10-month position
Salary minimum to be detrmined by EHTEA contract currently under negotiations
