Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper product flow, and supporting both operations and finance. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing inventory in a fast-paced consumer goods environment, with strong working knowledge of Unleashed and QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure accuracy of inventory records across warehouses and retail locations
- Manage and document inventory movements, including transfer orders, receipts, adjustments, and scrap/recycling activities
- Ensure accurate and timely updates to inventory levels and order statuses in Unleashed and QuickBooks
- Investigate and reconcile inventory variances; collaborate with warehouse and retail teams to identify root causes
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure inventory availability aligns with demand planning
- Process inventory dispositions for returns, warranty items, refurbished goods, and certified pre-owned bikes
- Develop and maintain SOPs for inventory workflows, ensuring internal controls and audit readiness
- Support warehouse operations with labeling, bin management, and space optimization strategies
- Collaborate with finance to assist in inventory valuation, costing, and monthly financial close support
- Participate in system and process improvement projects
- Maintain a high level of inventory data integrity and communicate inventory risks proactively
Requirements:
- 2+ years of inventory control experience, preferably in a consumer products or bike industry environment
- Strong proficiency with Unleashed and QuickBooks Online
- Experience with inventory reporting and cycle counting best practices
- Working knowledge of inventory accounting principles and product costing
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel; ability to create reports, pivot tables, and reconcile large data sets
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work on-site in Utah and travel occasionally to warehouse or retail locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-location inventory environments (e.g., warehouse, retail, warranty/parts depot)
- Familiarity with EDI or inventory integrations between platforms
- Experience supporting operations involving returns, refurbishments and warranty
