Miles Investigations, Inc. is a defense-focused private investigation firm that provides surveillance, interview and background investigation services to government agencies, Insurance companies, claims administration groups and law firms.
We are recruiting a part time field investigator to conduct surveillance of people with injury related claims that appears suspicious, exaggerated or fraudulent. Surveillance assignments will occur throughout Washington and Oregon and travel may be offered in other states.
We have been in business for 39 years and maintain an excellent reputation as experts in surveillance. We are owned and managed by a company founder located in the Pacific Northwest that actively conducts field surveillance as well.
If you are a skilled driver, patient observer, street smart and enjoy the thrill of the hunt, we have your job. This position will require confidence, organization, tenacity and you must enjoy working autonomously outside a standard 8 to 5 job in challenging environments.
In state and interstate travel up to 10 days and weekend work is required on short notice. Applicants must pass a state licensing fingerprint, and background check. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to utilize for surveillance.
You must have at least one year of surveillance experience, an Associate Arts degree or higher and or equivalent experience required.
Work from your home and report to our office electronically. We provide the equipment. We pay hours and mileage portage to portage, all travel expenses, overtime pay, and bonuses.
Licensed subcontractors will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Conduct covert surveillance operations to monitor subjects as part of investigations.
- Collect and document evidence through video and photographic means.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and observations from surveillance activities.
- Analyze data collected during investigations to identify patterns or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective investigative strategies.
- Maintain compliance with legal standards and ethical guidelines during all investigations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
