Position Title: Mental Health Counselor – IOP (Intensive Outpatient Co-Occurring Treatment)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. This role involves providing individual and group counseling to clients with both mental health and substance use disorders, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with medical and clinical staff to support client progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate evidence-based group therapy sessions focused on co-occurring disorders, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
- Provide individual counseling to address mental health and substance use concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other treatment team members to ensure integrated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
- Utilize trauma-informed and person-centered approaches in all interventions.
- Respond to crises and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- Active clinical license as PLPC or license-eligible under state requirements.
- Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred.
- Strong skills in group facilitation, clinical documentation, and crisis intervention.
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria and evidence-based treatment modalities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Level 3.7 or other inpatient/residential treatment setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
