GED ISAEP Teacher (Part-Time)
Job Description:
The GED ISAEP Teacher is responsible for developing students’ academic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, workplace readiness, and computer literacy to help them successfully complete the General Educational Development (GED) examination. The teacher designs and delivers instruction tailored to students’ diverse learning needs, administers assessments, monitors progress, and provides counseling and guidance to support both academic and personal growth.
Working hours: Mon-Fri: 8:00 am -12:30 pm
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; teaching license or endorsement in Adult Education preferred.
- Experience in Specialized Instruction preferred, but not required.
- Experience teaching adult learners, GED preparation, or secondary-level instruction strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of reading, writing, and math instruction, with the ability to adapt methods to individual learner needs.
- Effective classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and computer applications. Commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Support:
- Provide individualized and group instruction in reading, writing, math, and test-taking strategies to prepare students for the GED exam.
- Adapt teaching methods, curriculum, and instructional materials to meet the varying needs, abilities, and interests of students.
- Incorporate technology and workplace readiness skills into classroom instruction.
- Develop and implement remedial programs for students requiring additional academic support.
- Counsel and advise students on performance, problem-solving techniques, health, and personal issues that may affect academic progress.
- Administer subject-specific assessments to determine competency levels and guide instructional planning.
- Assess student progress toward academic objectives and provide timely feedback to students and administration. Review instructional content, teaching methods, and student evaluations to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for course improvement
Salary:
- $35 an hour/non-certified
Clearances:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
- Tuberculosis Skin Test.
Public Health Compliance
- Must follow safety and health protocols.
