Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on both commercial and industrial cleaning standards.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in assigned areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through effective floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing as needed.
- Clean restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure they are sanitary and well-stocked with supplies.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or reporting issues to management.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts in accordance with environmental standards.
- Provide porter services as required, ensuring that all areas are presentable at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and high standards of cleanliness.
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
- Ability to perform floor care tasks including buffing and waxing floors.
- Familiarity with residential painting is a plus for maintaining aesthetic standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
