Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role is essential in supporting the overall operations of our organization through effective custodial practices.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, and polishing to ensure high-quality appearance and safety.
- Carry out residential painting tasks as needed to maintain aesthetic standards.
- Assist with facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly.
- Execute commercial and industrial cleaning duties, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, ensuring supplies are stocked as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and effectively.
- Perform porter duties when required, including moving furniture or equipment as needed for events or maintenance.
Skills
- Strong custodial skills with experience in both commercial and industrial cleaning environments.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is a plus.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to effectively report issues or collaborate with others.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods.
