Role:
APV is seeking a Junior Instructional Systems Designer to support the design and delivery of digital training solutions for a Department of Defense customer. This role is ideal for an individual who is looking to further their growing career as an ISD and is driven to create impactful and engaging training products.
Duties:
The Junior Instructional Systems Designer will work collaboratively as a member of a multi-functional Instructional Design Team (IDT) to:
- Develop and update web-based and paper-based training courseware in coordination with more senior instructional designers, other IDT team members, and subject matter experts (SME).
- Create/modify storyboards based on SME and customer input.
- Help ensure content aligns with customer standards.
- Participate in testing of web-based courseware on the Learning Management System and with proofreading of paper-based materials.
- Work closely with graphic designers, editors, and Quality Assurance specialists to ensure high-quality products.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or a related field. Six years of relevant experience or an associate's degree with 4 years of experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Required Experience and Skills:
- At least 2 years of instructional design or courseware development experience.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Demonstrated skill in storyboard development and content refinement.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to producing compliant and engaging learning materials.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with military education/training environments or prior military service
