Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant with 1–2 years of experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in bookkeeping, basic tax return preparation, and 1099 processing. This role requires excellent client communication, the ability to support internal workflows, and a strong understanding of accounting platforms like QBO and Gusto. You'll work closely with our CFO and accounting team to support day-to-day operations and client onboarding. Key Responsibilities:
Week 1 Priorities:
- Collect all client statements and documentation
- Initiate client account organization and setup
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Client Onboarding & Organization:
- Set up client accounts in QBO and sync financial institutions
- Maintain organized records and documentation
- QuickBooks Online Responsibilities:
- Perform setup, syncing, and maintenance of QBO accounts
- Track and maintain bookkeeping KPIs and reporting
- Payroll & Gusto:
- Assist with payroll setup and processing in Gusto
- Handle payroll-related notices, registrations, and follow-ups
- Tax Support:
- Assist with basic tax return preparation
- Process and track 1099 filings for clients
- Support S Corporation elections and related filings
- Client Communication:
- Respond to client emails and follow up on requests
- Attend and support client kickoff calls
- Maintain strong, ongoing client relationships
- Administrative Support:
- Support the CFO and accounting team with internal workflows and quoting
- Delegate tasks to virtual assistants (VAs)
- Provide consistent end-of-day or end-of-week updates
- Assist with one-off tasks and deep dive projects as needed
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- At least 1 year of hands-on bookkeeping and basic tax return preparation
- Familiarity with 1099 processing and reporting
- Experience with Gusto or willingness to be trained
- Experience supporting S Corp elections
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear and proactive communication skills with clients
- Experience with syncing accounts and client onboarding
- Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus
- Reliable, resourceful, and able to handle multiple tasks independently
