We are seeking a Kennel Attendant that will rotate between our Back Kennels, Puppy Condo and cat rooms. Kennel attendants are responsible for the overall care and well-being of the animals at our facility.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize animal living areas/kennels daily from 9:00am - 11:00am Monday - Saturday and 9:00am - 12:00pm Sunday. Maintain the cleanliness of all animal areas thereafter.
- Handle general care tasks such as feeding, bathing, walking, enrichment, basic grooming, socialization, laundry, administering medication, etc.
- Be attentive to each animal's behavior, health and living conditions and report any issues to the appropriate management.
- Assist/council potential adopters and process adoptions.
- Perform other duties as required and rotate between departments as needed.
Working Shift Hours & Schedule:
- Monday - Saturday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
- Sunday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Full-time position working 5 days a week
- Will need to work weekends
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in animal care preferred
- Exhibit maturity and good judgement
- Able to communicate professionally with the public, employees and volunteers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Conditions of Employment
- Working under adverse conditions such as inclement weather, noise and daily exposure to infectious disease, parasites and animal waste.
- Physical requirements include being able to stand, walk and bend for an 8-hour shift and lift 50lbs repetitively as needed throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Must be comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes.
- Must have excellent customer service skills
