Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a commitment to providing exceptional service to pet owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Support veterinary technicians during examinations or treatments as required.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to animal care, including moving supplies or equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Knowledge of dog handling techniques and basic pet grooming practices is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
