Kennel Technician - Part-Time Summer/Fall - Weekday shifts starting 6:45am, afternoon shifts ending 9:30pm. Must be available to work some weekends, including Sundays.

We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and responsible Kennel Technician to join our team. This role is about creating a structured, safe, and clean environment where dogs receive top-level care. Job Summary

As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and overall well-being of the dogs in our facility. This includes maintaining cleanliness, following strict procedures, and ensuring every dog receives the care and attention they need. You will follow structured morning, daily, and evening checklists to keep operations smooth and efficient.This position requires someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. You must be comfortable with physical tasks, following routines, and handling multiple responsibilities with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Animal Care and Handling

Follow specific feeding schedules, ensuring dogs receive the correct food and portion sizes Administer medications as directed and record administration times Provide proper exercise and enrichment time for each dog Perform bathing services for dogs, following our structured bathing procedures Learn nail trimming and grinding techniques, delivering these grooming services with care and precision (we will train).

Monitor dog behavior, recognizing signs of stress, illness, or aggression Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently. Maintain safety protocols to ensure the well-being of both staff, dogs and facilities. Capture and upload daily photos (Monday-Saturday) of dogs, tagging clients through our app to provide owners peace of mind and insight into their dog’s daily activities and well-being.

Facility Cleaning and Maintenance

Follow detailed AM, PM, and daily cleaning checklists to maintain a safe, sanitary environment Regularly disinfect kennels, play areas, and common spaces. Keep supplies stocked and notify management of any shortages. Handle waste disposal safely and efficiently. Maintain organized storage areas for cleaning and animal care supplies.

Communication and Record Keeping

Keep accurate records of feedings, medications, and behavioral notes. Report any changes in a dog’s health or behavior immediately. Work with the team to ensure seamless shift transitions and clear communication. Participate in ongoing training and skill development Assist in refining and improving procedures to make operations more effective.

Growth & Compensation

This role starts at $14.50 - $15/hr, with performance-based raises available after demonstrated reliability, skill development, and contribution to the team. Required Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required. Must be comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like bending, standing, and moving heavy objects Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures without cutting corners. Reliable transportation to ensure on-time arrival for every shift. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment and Expectations

This position involves regular exposure to cleaning chemicals, pet dander, and loud barking. We will support you during training, but you will be expected to own the flow of the day after that. We work as a team, but you are responsible for your shift start-to-finish. Employees must be comfortable working independently and staying on task. Employees must bring their own meals and be responsible for their food needs while on shift. The job requires adherence to strict protocols to ensure animal health and safety.
