West Russell Animal Hospital is a fast paced animal hospital that is looking for the right individuals to join our staff! The Kennel Technician's primary job is to oversee the pets in our boarding facility. You will be interacting with all staff to ensure consistent, safe, and appropriate patient care.
Job Duties:
- Take care of all pets boarding at our facility.
- Clean kennels, yard and hospital.
- Walk , feed all pets and make sure they have proper bedding.
- Work directly with doctors and staff in patient care for our boarding pets.
- Clean up feces and urine after pets, keep them well maintained during their stay.
- In charge of all baths for the hospital.
- Assists in nail trim appointments.
- In charge of maintaining laundry and dishes.
- In charge of intaking boarders and discharging boarders.
Personal Requirements:
- We are looking for a candidate that is able to thrive under pressure and prioritize well.
- Must have a strong love of animals and be motivated to provide the best possible experience for our clients and their pets.
- Has excellent client communication skills.
- Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals/packages up to 40lbs. (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Walks or stands for extended periods of time.
- Working conditions: Will be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches.
- Must have open availability as this is a full time position.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
