*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks to ensure smooth food preparation and service for our Senior Lunch program where we prepare and serve ~80 meals/day by way of dine in, delivery to homebound and pick up.
Additional hours available for special events and building rentals.
Work schedule: M/W/F Start time 8:30am, Tuesday Start time 10am
*Responsibilities*
- Support chef with food preparation and service
-Setup front of house (tables, place settings, coffee station)
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area (floors, dishes, prep areas, launder napkins and tablecloths)
- Handle basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Follow food safety guidelines and regulations
- Aid in receiving and storing kitchen supplies
- Collaborate with the chef to ensure efficient kitchen operations
-Maintain cleanliness of pantry, fridges and freezers
*Requirements*
- Prior experience in a kitchen environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and basic cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety standards
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a team player mindset
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
-Food Safe Certification or willingness to complete it
