Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, and support the overall efficiency of our food service operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and that high standards of food safety and quality are maintained.
Duties
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients using proper knife skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled and stored properly.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and keeping track of food items.
- Support catering events by preparing meals according to specific menus and dietary requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Participate in cleaning tasks at the end of shifts to maintain a hygienic workspace.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or a restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
- Basic culinary skills with an understanding of food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure high standards are met consistently.
