Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. In this role, you will support the kitchen staff in various tasks to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment. Responsibilities
- Assist cooks and chefs in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitized.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring all food items are presented attractively.
- Follow food handling safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions to supervisory staff.
- Support dishwashing duties to keep the kitchen running smoothly during busy service periods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during meal periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A passion for food service and hospitality, with a willingness to learn from experienced cooks.
