Title: Label Operator
Report To: Assistant Production Manager
Summary:
The Label Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient product labeling within the food and beverage manufacturing process. This position involves operating and monitoring labeling equipment, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and reliable individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate labeling equipment according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Control and adjust machine settings to ensure accurate label placement and application.
- Know and follow the proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices.
- Perform label changes accurately and efficiently, including adjusting machine settings and changing label rolls.
- Conduct quality checks on labeled products, ensuring accurate label placement, proper code application, and the absence of defects.
- Monitor the flow of products through the labeling line and address any jams or blockages.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around the labeling equipment.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow all food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and company safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with all quality standards and customer specifications.
- Immediately report any quality issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Prepare and maintain production records and reports such as checklists, sanitation forms and material usage forms etc.
- Read and Interpret production schedules for smooth operations.
- Participate in cross-training across the production floor.
- Other duties as assigned
Safety Compliance:
- Adheres to and follows Food Safety, Food Quality and SQF program requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and any other applicable standards.
- Follows all program guidelines for Halal and Kosher certifications.
- Follows plant GMP’s.
Education/Experience:
- Three plus (3+) years of progressively responsible production Operator experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- High attention to detail, Problem solving is a plus
- Basic math and computer skills are required
- Ability to read, write and speak English preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
