- Cares for animals including feeling, cleaning and breeding responsibilities
- Maintain detailed records of animal production and inventory in precisely weighed and aged groups
- Keeps accurate records of feeding, cleaning and care of animals.
- Follows protocol to ensure the health and welfare of the animals in care
- Work within changing shift times and rotating overtime schedule
- Maintains responsibility for sanitation of the animal buildings, cages and support areas.
- Able to handle laboratory animals and recognize abnormalities
- Demonstrate commitment to provide the highest quality care for laboratory animals and their offspring
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently
- Good teamwork skills
- Able to work in a confined environment
- Work in a standing position that will require bending and stretching of arms and legs throughout regular work shift
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be available to work weekends/holidays on a rotating basis
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift.
*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
