Job Title: Lead Analyst – Regulatory Accounting

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $98,786 to $123,483.
Job Summary
Leads the support of accounting for regulatory assets, liabilities, electric and gas commodity, transmission and distribution revenue transactions including monitoring changes to accounting and rate-making regulations as mandated by the federal and state regulatory commissions.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and/or prepares complex specialized calculations supporting revenue and regulatory asset and liability accounting transactions and prepares and processes such accounting transactions.
- Participates in the month-end closing process and prepares various revenue analyzes.
- Monitors, reviews and evaluates the testimony, deliberations and rulings of regulators associated with rate proceedings for the regulated companies, as assigned.
- Drafts summaries of commission decisions, as assigned, identifying the financial impacts and implementation requirements.
- Interprets/evaluates general concepts being considered by a regulatory body and quantifies and communicates its impact on the regulated company.
- Reviews and/or prepares schedules used to support internal and external reporting needs and proceedings before regulatory agencies.
- Maintains a current awareness of changes and proposed modifications in FERC and state commission accounting rules and procedures and notify management of proposed modifications to existing regulations and their impact.
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Advanced knowledge of applications and mainframe accounting systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a particular accounting field.
- Detailed knowledge of GAAP.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Able to lead a group of two or more individuals.
