Trainers at MAD are known for being the best in the industry. Rather than yelling motivational phrases into a microphone, you provide 1:1 movement correction.
You inspire, support and teach our clients to move with proper form and technique while also developing your own skills and skills of the trainers you lead.
Our lead trainer works closely with our GM to review/manage studio performance metrics and communicate studio goals with trainers.
We are looking for a person with top tier communication skills, team player and passion for fitness and helping others achieve real results.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead a team or supervise others; preferably in fitness.
- Strong background in building and maintaining client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have an accredited training certification (StrongFirst Kettlebell Level 1, BioForce Conditioning, USA Weightlifting, CrossFit Level 1, NASM, ACE, ISSA, etc.)
- Must be CPR certified
- Must have the physical strength and cardiovascular endurance to pass a rigorous fitness test out
- Quality movement patterns and natural athleticism
- Excellent interpersonal skills- can talk to a wall!
- Infectious energy that commands a room of 20-25 clients, whether it is 5:30am or 6:30pm!
- Always striving to get better and learn more by being coachable and open to feedback.
- Weekend availability preferred but not required.
- Ability to travel to Charlotte, NC for a 2-day mid-week training camp.
- Belief in the MADabolic brand and our philosophy on fitness and nutrition:
- Rest and recovery are just as important as training
- Represent the studio at one outdoor networking event per month
- Attend one team meeting per month. (in-person or online)
Class Instruction
- Teach 5-10 classes per week, maintaining the highest level of quality and consistency in instruction.
- Deliver engaging, safe, and results-oriented workouts that align with MADabolic’s programming and philosophy.
- Build strong relationships with clients during classes, creating a welcoming and motivating environment.
- Ability to observe and correct effectively towards different learning styles.
- Willingness to sell memberships , support retention of members and growth of the studio.
Client Engagement & Retention
- Proactively engage with members to foster a sense of community and loyalty.
- Run approved movement clinics to educate and empower clients, enhancing their workout experience.
- Oversee client retention efforts by monitoring attendance patterns, engaging at-risk members, and ensuring all clients feel valued.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with management to align training staff and client experience with the gym’s brand standards.
- Adhere to and enforce all expectations outlined in the location’s Employee Handbook.
- Keep classes efficient, running on time and energy is always HIGH.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional gym environment to ensure a best-in-class member experience.
Leadership & People Skills
- Coach other trainers; provide feedback, help refine delivery of workout.
- Adaptability - Can pivot quickly in a fast paced environment and stay calm under pressure
- Conflict Management - Stay positive, resolve client or team issues calmly & decisively with confidence.

*This position may begin as a trainer role and mature into a lead trainer role.
