Job Summary

The School of Health Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer beginning August 1, 2025. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise and participating in service at the school, college, and university levels.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences has programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate level. The School of Health Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and Health Sciences, an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, a minor in Nutritional Science (online), and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. The undergraduate Exercise Physiology program is accredited by CAAHEP. The Dental Hygiene program is accredited by CODA. The School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner and Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Responsibilities

Department Summary

Teach primarily in the Health Sciences program at the undergraduate level. Additional duties may include teaching in the undergraduate Exercise Physiology program and the online Nutritional Sciences minor. Participating in service at the school, college and University levels.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Teaching and Service - 100%
Teaches classes and meets assigned service obligations.

Required Qualifications

MS in health education, public health, nursing, athletic training, exercise science, or a closely aligned field of study.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad teaching experience within a health or fitness related curricula.
  • Experience in academic programs with an interdisciplinary studies focus.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or fitness related field.
  • Current licensure (e.g., RN, AT, etc.) or healthcare certification (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, CHES, ATC, CPH, etc.).
  • A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant's career stage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
  • A record of mentoring students.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.
