Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Trusts & Estates practice group in our Buffalo office. Key Responsibilities
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics
- Create, organize, and maintain electronic and physical files
- Draft and format transmittal letters and client correspondence
- Prepare and file legal documents and submissions
- Track project deadlines, expirations, and renewals
- Proofread and edit complex legal documents
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients
- Open new matters and prepare internal memoranda
- Provide general administrative and clerical support
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant (Trusts & Estates experience preferred)
- Typing speed of 60–90 WPM with high accuracy
- Strong proofreading and document editing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a proactive mindset
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion
- Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $26.00 based on experience
This range reflects a good faith estimate based on experience, education, and skill level.
