- Handle phone calls from patients who are seeking medical attention with compassion, good judgment and making decisions based on clinical and regulatory policies and protocols.
- Educate patients on the phone who have questions about the services provided.
- Schedule appointments, and answer patient questions.
- Completes Prior Authorizations.
- Processes medication renewals and authorizations.
- Execute all provider orders as indicated, directs ordered testing to appropriate staff member, initiates appropriate follow up.
- Sends specimens with completed forms to the lab as directed by the provider.
- Performs post op calls in a timely manner
- Exercises judgment in making decisions regarding adherence to policy, sequence of work, modifies or adapts results to meet different conditions, and makes decisions based on clinical or regulatory policies and protocols.
Requirements
- Must possess a New York State license and current registration for Licensed Practical Nursing
- 1-2 years’ experience in outpatient setting preferred
- BLS certificate required
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills with excellent attention to detail, organization and time management skills
- Ability to handle a busy office environment
COMPENSATION: The compensation range for this position is $25.00 to $30.00. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
