PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Provides written and “Hands-on” age-appropriate parenting education and activities to a caseload of families. Provides court testimony and attends recommended training. Provides training in skill-based areas, such as budgeting, organizational skills, cooking, healthy environmental maintenance, with the ability to adjust the curriculum to accommodate for learning disabilities. Assesses need and progress through pre and post-tests.
Job Duties:
Completes family assessment of children and families and implements services to correct identified areas of need. Assess safety risks in a home environment. Makes weekly visits with parents and/or guardians to provide age-appropriate parenting education. Provides transportation to clients for parenting “Hands-on” activities such as medical appointments, court, and service provision. Observes family dynamics and home environment. Provides supervised visits with parents and children to enhance the curriculum. Provides court testimony. Providing letters to the court on parent’s progress or lack thereof for all hearings held during open parenting cases. Advises clients of available child welfare and Cherokee Nation services and resources as well as outside agencies. Documents all case activity in the database within 30 days of the event. Adjusts curriculum to accommodate parents with learning disabilities. Administers pre and post-assessments. Abides by GSA and mileage claim form requirements. Participates in meetings and conferences for overall program planning, diagnostics, and treatment for children and their families. Assists in advocating for clients in obtaining services maintains communication among clients, providers, client’s family, and others. Assists clients in maintaining individualized service requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one and one-half (1 ½) years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
No additional experience required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Database software, Internet software, and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
