General Summary
Promotes USX FCU products and services in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State rules and regulations. Responsible for interviewing and evaluating applicants for consumer, real estate and VISA loans, inputting applicant information, and making recommendations to underwriting regarding the loan request. Reviewing credit reports and identifying opportunities. Educating members on achieving financial goals and disbursing approved loans are critical to the individual's success in this position.
Essential Functions
- Conduct loan interviews with members, performing assessment of their financial condition and objectives.
- Obtain member credit report and validate information obtained during initial interview.
- Conduct a Credit Score Review (CSR) on member credit reports identifying opportunities to improve credit scores, lower monthly payments, and eliminate high interest credit cards. Provide insight into their financial affairs, helping members to make prudent financial goals.
- Accurately enter member data from loan interview into the lending software.
- Identify the best financial package for members and educate them on the benefits of the plan, the loan, and the protection products which will help them achieve their financial goals.
- Disburse loans in accordance with underwriting decisions and securing all collateral designated in the lending decision.
- Actively cross-sell USX Federal Credit Union products and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Self-directed individual with well-developed interpersonal skills, effective communications skills, both written and oral, as well as time management skills
- Detail oriented and the ability to multi-task
- Experience in loan servicing, documentation or related field, preferred
- Ability to effectively use computer software and systems, such as MS-Office Suite
