Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Kennel Technician to join our locally owned, AAHA accredited practice.
We work as a team to provide the highest standards of medicine in a warm and compassionate environment.
Kennel technicians monitor pets and provide necessary services for a safe, clean, and healthy stay. During each shift, kennel technicians perform various tasks, including; feeding, medicating, exercising, cleaning up after the animals, and showing compassion and care for all our boarders.
Kennel technician qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Maintain appearance of kennel and/or hospital
- Feed dogs and cats and provide medications as needed
- Perform basic grooming services such as baths, nail trims, and ear cleanings
- Have a strong work ethic - working in a kennel requires a lot of energy; it is not just an opportunity to play with dogs and cats
- Assist Veterinary Technicians with patient restraint as needed
- Able to stand for at least 5 hours at a time
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs
